The first few days after getting engaged is such an exciting time… telling all of your family and friends the good news, staring at the new sparkler on your finger, and calling your significant other fiancé for the first time is enough to put a smile on any girls’ face!  But then the reality hits… now that you’re engaged, you have to start planning a wedding!

I remember being amazed at how soon after announcing your engagement people start asking about the details: “Have you picked a date yet?” and “Where are you planning to have the wedding?” Meanwhile, you’re sitting here thinking I am still trying to get used to the fact that I am engaged and haven’t even gotten a chance to tell everyone yet… how could I possibly know where and when the wedding will be?!?!  Don’t worry – every bride feels the same way. Just take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy these first couple of days. You will never (hopefully) get to be newly engaged again, so just soak it all in while you can!

And then, once you’ve languished in the post-proposal bliss long enough… let the planning begin!
